Saracens Head opens on Halsall’s canal-side

Langtree Pub & Kitchens has opened a new gastro pub at the Saracens Head in Halsall with help from Taylors Solicitors.

Jonathan and Grant Ainsworth alongside Natalie and Dave Reynolds founded Langtree Pub & Kitchens in February 2014. Both Jonathan and Grant are fully qualified chefs with over 12 years experience across some of the most successful kitchens in the North West and Yorkshire.

Jonathan and Grant’s breadth of their experience was built across hotels, fine-dining restaurants and small gastro pubs with high footfall. Jonathan’s career highlights included 1A Rosette Le Metropolitan, Halifax and 2AA Rosette Rogan & Co, Cartmel owned by Simon Rogan. Grant has worked in two of Nigel Howarth’s gastro pubs in the Blackburn area.

The business is supported by Natalie Reynolds, whose extensive background in HR, sales, marketing and finance, provides the strong business acumen to manage the business on a day-to-day basis. Natalie is further supported by Dave Reynolds who has over 30 years of board level experience in managing businesses with multiple sites.

Langtree Pub & Kitchens first venture was The Boathouse Pub & Kitchen in Appley Bridge followed by the Saracens Head. They plan to open additional restaurants across South Lancashire over the next two years.

The Saracens Head is situated in a canal-side location on the Leeds/Liverpool Canal.  The facilities includes a 90+ seater restaurant and bar with space for small functions and a large external dining/drinking area. A total of 25 full and part time jobs support the running of this successful restaurant and Bar at the Saracens Head.

Natalie said: “The Saracens Head is located in a great location and gives customers a high-quality dining experience in a beautiful setting. We opened in August and have been very busy over the first six weeks. It’s great to see so many people coming through our doors.”

Taylors Solicitors advised Langtree on the transaction.  Andy Herricks, corporate partner, who led the team said: “Langtree have a clear growth plan and it is great to be part of this exciting project.  We are delighted to have handled this acquisition which we hope will be the first of many.”

Jamie Grimshaw from NatWest provided relationship support for the move and also secured a six-figure loan for the purchase of the Saracens Head.  Jamie said: “The Saracens Head is a fantastic addition to Langtree Pub & Kitchens’ portfolio of gastropubs. The management team have a strong plan for how they want to develop the business in the years ahead and we wish the business every success for the future.”
